About Me

Hands-on care with heart

I'm Dewi Thomas, a registered osteopath who loves working with people of all ages. I support people through pain, injury, movement challenges, and the demands of everyday life. I have a particular passion for supporting mothers through pregnancy and the postpartum period, providing gentle care for babies, and working with our disabled and neurodivergent communities. I recognise that everyone experiences their body and environment differently, and I take the time to understand what is important to you and how you feel most comfortable receiving care. Building a genuine relationship with the people I work with is an important part of my approach, allowing me to tailor treatment to you as an individual.

My approach is warm, thorough, and always tailored to you. I draw on a range of hands-on techniques, from more direct structural work through to gentler approaches, including cranial techniques. I take the time to listen, understand the full picture, and explain what I'm finding in a way that makes sense — so you leave each session feeling informed, comfortable, and cared for.

My Story

Why I love being an osteopath

I've always been drawn to understanding how the body works and its remarkable ability to heal when given the right support.

I believe that effective treatment and rehabilitation requires movement — not just hands-on care. Together we can get you closer to your personal goals related to your health and wellbeing. My goal is always to find the root cause of your pain or discomfort, not simply manage the symptoms. When you understand what's happening in your body, you become an active participant in your own recovery.

I have a particular interest in supporting mothers through pregnancy and the postpartum period, and in the gentle care of their babies. I also have a deep commitment to working with neurodivergent and disabled people — ensuring that osteopathic care is accessible, unhurried, and genuinely tailored to each person's needs.

I'm based in three areas, Central Auckland, West Auckland, and the North Shore, which means I'm well placed to support families across the wider Auckland region. My clinic is a calm, unhurried space where you're always welcome to ask questions, take your time, and bring your baby along.

How I Work

What you can expect from me

Whole-person care

I look beyond the symptom to understand what's driving it — your history, lifestyle, stress, and how your whole body is functioning together.

Honest and clear

I'll always explain what I'm finding and what I'm doing. If osteopathy isn't the right fit for you, I'll tell you that too and point you in the right direction.

Evidence-informed

My practice is grounded in current research and ongoing learning. I combine traditional osteopathic principles with a modern, evidence-informed approach.

Community-focused

I'm proud to serve the West Auckland and North Shore communities — working alongside GPs, midwives, lactation consultants, and other practitioners to support your care.
