My Approach

Hands-on care that looks at the whole you

Osteopathy is built on the understanding that the body works as one connected system. I use a combination of structural, cranial, and visceral techniques — always tailored to you.

Gentle osteopathic treatment

Philosophy

The four principles of osteopathy

These principles guide every assessment and treatment — they're not just theory, they shape how I listen, how I examine, and how I treat.

01

The body is a unit

Every part of the body is connected. A problem in one area often has its roots — or its effects — somewhere else entirely. I always look at the whole picture.

02

Structure and function are interrelated

How your body is structured affects how it works, and vice versa. Restoring good structure — alignment, mobility, balance — allows the body to function as it should.

03

The body has self-healing capacity

Given the right conditions, the body is remarkably good at healing itself. My role is to remove the obstacles — tension, restriction, imbalance — that get in the way.

04

Treatment is always individual

No two people are the same, and no two treatments are identical. I tailor every session to you — your body, your history, your goals, and your comfort.

Techniques

Three approaches, one treatment

Most sessions draw on more than one technique. I use whatever combination best serves your body on that day.

Structural Osteopathy

Restoring movement, relieving pain

Structural Osteopathy

Structural osteopathy works directly with the muscles, joints, and connective tissues of the body. Using hands-on techniques — including soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, and gentle manipulation — I address restrictions in movement, reduce tension, and help the body find its natural alignment.

  • Joint mobilisation and articulation
  • Soft tissue release and myofascial techniques
  • Muscle energy techniques
  • High-velocity low-amplitude (HVLA) adjustments where appropriate
  • Postural assessment and correction
Good for: Back pain, neck pain, joint pain, sports injuries, postural strain, and most musculoskeletal conditions.
Cranial Osteopathy

Gentle, subtle, deeply effective

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial osteopathy is one of the most gentle and subtle forms of osteopathic treatment. Using very light touch, I work with the body's inherent rhythms — particularly the subtle movement of the craniosacral system — to release tension patterns held deep in the tissues. It is safe for all ages, from newborns to the elderly.

  • Extremely gentle, light-touch technique
  • Works with the craniosacral rhythm
  • Releases deep-seated tension and compression
  • Particularly effective for babies and infants
  • Supports the nervous system and whole-body balance
Good for: Babies and infants, headaches, migraines, jaw pain, stress and anxiety, birth trauma, and those who prefer a very gentle approach.
Visceral Osteopathy

Supporting your organs, supporting your health

Visceral Osteopathy

Visceral osteopathy addresses the mobility and function of the internal organs — the digestive system, respiratory system, and pelvic organs. Restrictions in organ movement can contribute to pain, postural problems, and a range of symptoms that may not seem obviously connected. Gentle, targeted techniques help restore normal organ motion and function.

  • Gentle assessment of organ mobility
  • Techniques to release fascial restrictions around organs
  • Supports digestive health and pelvic function
  • Addresses referred pain patterns from organ restrictions
  • Commonly used in pregnancy and postpartum care
Good for: Digestive discomfort, pelvic pain, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, infant colic, and chronic pain with no clear structural cause.

Your First Visit

What to expect

Every first appointment follows the same unhurried structure — so you always know what's coming.

01

A thorough case history

We start by talking — about your current concern, your health history, lifestyle, and anything else that might be relevant. This usually takes 15–20 minutes and is one of the most important parts of the process.

02

Hands-on assessment

I'll assess your posture, movement, and the tissues involved — using my hands to feel for areas of tension, restriction, or imbalance throughout the body.

03

Treatment

Treatment begins in the same session. I'll explain what I'm finding and what I'm doing as we go. You're always in control — if anything is uncomfortable, just say so.

04

Advice and next steps

At the end of the session I'll share what I found, what we worked on, and any exercises or self-care advice to support your recovery between visits.
